Marmora Man, you are quite beyond belief. What would your wife say if you said 'calm down dear' in front of your mates in order to remind her that you are a man and she needs to know her place?

*comprehensive non Labour MP disbelief*

Looking for the men-stuck-in-1050 poster book.

My wife would laugh and come back at me with a similar, non threatening, relevant and perhaps marginally amusing put down. Neither of us believes in po faced rectitude. I'm not defending Cameron's wit - as a parliamentary put down it was weak - I'm amused by the degree of righteousness that Labour and its supporters can muster in response to such a lame joke.

If this was the first time Cameron had used this phrase I would understand the supposed uproar, and the suggestion of sexism, but it isn't. He previously used the phrase to quieten down a man (I think it was David Milliband). There weren't any complaints then, so why the excitement now? I rather think this was just an exchange of normal political banter that a few journalists managed to get in the middle of.

Banter, but in this case used in a sexist way, so he's either being deliberately sexist or showing rather poor judgement for a political leader (maybe both). Perhaps his indecision over what to wear to the royal wedding has fogged his brain.

The man's an idiot and unfit to be prime minister. My guess he's marking time till he gets into the House of Lords and a glut of board positions.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
