Harris Girls ED

I went to visit Harris Girls ED last week and was very impressed by the teaching team and the good behaviour I observed. I'm now looking for views from people with first-hand experience of the school. PM is fine. Thank you in advance!

I was also impressed and thought the new head was great, very 'real', the girls showing us round were polite and engaging and the teachers (particularly English and art) were really useful to talk to.

I'd also like some first hand experience info please, again PM is fine

No PMs at all (apart from those shared between me and Monkey).

We've submitted our application and Harris Girls is on the list, it's not first choice but that's mainly because my daughter has no reference point there where-as she knows lots of kids at other schools.

Harris Girls results (actual and pupil progress) are some of the best around - if she gets a place there I'm confident she will do well there....

Thank you for your response, Kristymac1. I've had mixed opinions about Harris ED and Kingsdale, whereas views on Sydenham Girls have been consistently positive. Harris will still make it to my list as I really liked it, but it won't be my first either. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait. Good luck to us!

One of the things I'm not clear on with Harris (not yet at the open day stage) is of the results how many do A levels and how many do A level equivalent - think I'd heard secondhand that the majority of their results are HND social care type courses which have A level equivalence. Was this covered in their open day material?

I don't think it was covered, Goldilocks. Charter gave us a full pack with a page per subject including curriculum and results. I can't find the equivalent information on Harris' website or open day material.
