I am thinking of starting a small short story writing group. The idea is that budding short story authors get together monthly to encourage and critique each others short stories. The aim is to encourage those of us (like me) that are keen to write but need a nudge to get started, and to provide a friendly group to provide feedback and support.

I think I would try to keep the group to around five and aim to meet in each other's houses for a few hours in the evening once a month.

If you're interested in joining, and have the will to write a short story, or are already writing short stories, let me know and I'll start to make arrangements.

Please send me a PM telling me a little about yourself and your literary ambitions. I'm 40, male and would like to write crime fiction.

Do you know that we already have a local and very active writers' group in the area? East Dulwich Writers' Group has been going for about 12 yrs and we have well over 200 people on the mailing list. We've managed to keep meetings small and informal and have people on the list who are at every stage of the writing process, from people just starting out to published authors and competition winners. See www.edwg.co.uk for details.

    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
    • My dog has to be medicated to cope with  bonfire night. She’s a rescue so I don’t know what traumatic abuse she experienced. I love the fact that you, Dave CPR, are so unaware of how another can be affected by something that does not personally affect yourself. Blissful ignorance. Lack of Empathy. Cold hearted.
    • Not fair on the patients or the consultants, either.  My brother's an ED consultant and he is on his knees - they all have the flu but have to work through it, because it's so busy at this time of year. Adding the strike to this just makes everything feel even more impossible and he's pretty low right now.
    • These very anti social fireworks went on for at least fifteen years and were unbearable for both humans and pets.    Was extremely relieved that they moved a couple of years ago.  Never experienced such close proximity loud fireworks before.   But the ones that go off in the middle of the night are also very upsetting and annoying.
