Do excuse the dumb question.

I have never had either cable or Satellite TV, but am finally thinking about it as going to the pub to watch matches can prove quite expensive.

I have googled, but am none the wiser. How do I go about this? Do I simply contact Sky or, as with broadband (e.g.), are there many providers of Sky Sports? Also, I notice that there are several Sky Sports? I only want it for football. So what do I look for, and how much should I expect to pay? And will I have to have an ugly satellite dish outside my house? A lot of questions, I know, but this is all very new to me.

Thanks.

One is never rat arsed Mr. Medic! The very presumptiousness! Having said that...have planned the day in the pub tomorrow for the Blackburn match followed by the FACF LOL. Can't wait!

But seriously, MUTV? Never thought about that. Presumably, it wouldn't cover non-United matches (such as the up-coming FACF where revenge dictates that I absolutely drop everything in order to watch Stoke thrash City ;-)).

That pub spills over with BLUES LOL! It's virtually been taken over by Blues! I'd get lynched!

Actually, it's very tempting, but I've already made arrangements with a friend to watch both matches locally (she's a RED too!). But thank you: next time perhaps.

Re. this:

I can get you streams so you can watch for free on laptop/pc

Sounds good. But what is this? (Sorry, not very good when it comes to the latest technology). Also, is it legal?

    • I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there  back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
