AbDabs
Whatever you may think of Alice?s statement, calling her a moron probably won?t encourage anyone to return the scooter. Angelina
In all fairness, I agree with both Alice and Abdabs.Further, I'm a bit surprised by your implicit threat towards the woman who took it... not sure what you plan on doing with the high definition recording? There is a common theme of leaving things outside your house that you want collected and fair-doos to the woman.Insulting Alice has probably lost you any goodwill that might have come your way. DulwichFox
People who leave things outside their house would normally place a note on it like [PLEASE TAKE FREE] If there is no note and someone takes it, it is technically Theft. Simples. Taking things from a skip without permission is also technically theft. Chick
We often leave stuff with no note as do many other people. Hardly theft.DulwichFox Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> People who leave things outside their house would> normally place a note on it like > > If there is no note and someone takes it, it is> technically Theft. > > Simples.> > Taking things from a skip without permission is> also technically theft.> > DulwichFox Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/172008-scooter-taken-from-melbourne-grove/#findComment-1189414 Share on other sites

ED_moots
Thanks fox. This is my view too. If I am packing up the car for holiday and go back inside with a couple of bags on the street are they fair game. In this case the lady loiters for a bit. Doesn't knock on the door then takes the scooter. Chick
There is a bit of a difference between some books, an old microwave, plates and so on and a car? People do leave things to be taken often with no note.DulwichFox Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Chick Wrote:> --------------------------------------------------> -----> > We often leave stuff with no note as do many> other> > people. Pikeythievingratbag
Well I think that?s theft. Not as bad as the lady that put the cat in the wheelie bin but stealing a treasured, loved scooter from a poor defenceless child is poor form. I am going to start a justgiving page to get a new one. I can only hope she didn?t nick it for herself as she was quite a unit and it will probably be a bit curved if she does bring it back. Mooters
For me the carefully assembled elastic band collection just about idetifiable on the vid makes it obvious that the scooter was left outside by accident. A quick knock on the door is surely in order when there is no explicit sign. Pikeythievingratbag
That?s my real name. I was christened PikeyThievingratbag when a gipsy ran through the church during my christening and stole my saint Christopher just as the vicar was naming me. My sister is called ?oopsdidntmeantosmashyourheadonthefont? but my parents used a different vicar for my brother who is called Wayne. Mooters
Wierd world when there is more outrage about a dodgy username than there is concern for a small chikd who has lost his scooter...and his crefully assembled elastic band collection. Pikeythievingratbag
Stealing is forbidden by one of the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not have a silly username was considered but the effort involved in chiselling it into another tablet of stone was prohibitive and thus the eleventh commandments was dropped. Thou shalt not steal stayed in, however. As did something about coveting. Mooters
Interesting assumption alice. Mine would have been that the parents accidentally left the scooter outside because they had to carry in loads of other stuff. They probably just about jad time for a cup of tea before remembering the scooter.
