To the black lady with very long hair wearing a white coat with a shoulder bag grey jogging bottoms who passed my house at 10:22 this morning kindly return the blue micro scooter with lots of elastic bands on it which you took from just outside my front gate.

My child left it there by mistake, it was not left there as a giveaway so please bring it back to where you found it. Pm me if you'd like me to collect it. There is hd CCTV of the event.

Thanks!

In all fairness, I agree with both Alice and Abdabs.

Further, I'm a bit surprised by your implicit threat towards the woman who took it... not sure what you plan on doing with the high definition recording?

There is a common theme of leaving things outside your house that you want collected and fair-doos to the woman.

Insulting Alice has probably lost you any goodwill that might have come your way.

People who leave things outside their house would normally place a note on it like [PLEASE TAKE FREE]

If there is no note and someone takes it, it is technically Theft.

Simples.

Taking things from a skip without permission is also technically theft.

DulwichFox

We often leave stuff with no note as do many other people. Hardly theft.

You leave your car outside your house and someone takes it , it is theft.

You leave your bike outside your house and someone takes it , it is theft.

You your child leaves their micro scooter outside your house and someone takes it , it is theft.

No argument.

Take it back alice. You may not be a moron but your comment is moronic and unhelpful. Should I explain your logic to the 4 year old that left it there?

For starters I'll post a copy here and people can make their own minds up.

If you happen to know this lady and she believes the scooter was left outside as a giveaway, please ask her to give it back or contact me via pm.

('in fairness' I always leave a note with stuff that people are welcome to take)

There is a bit of a difference between some books, an old microwave, plates and so on and a car? People do leave things to be taken often with no note.

Ok that looks like theft, I would have knocked on the door to ask.

Well I think that?s theft. Not as bad as the lady that put the cat in the wheelie bin but stealing a treasured, loved scooter from a poor defenceless child is poor form. I am going to start a justgiving page to get a new one. I can only hope she didn?t nick it for herself as she was quite a unit and it will probably be a bit curved if she does bring it back.

Your user name is completely unacceptable

That?s my real name. I was christened PikeyThievingratbag when a gipsy ran through the church during my christening and stole my saint Christopher just as the vicar was naming me. My sister is called ?oopsdidntmeantosmashyourheadonthefont? but my parents used a different vicar for my brother who is called Wayne.
Stealing is forbidden by one of the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not have a silly username was considered but the effort involved in chiselling it into another tablet of stone was prohibitive and thus the eleventh commandments was dropped. Thou shalt not steal stayed in, however. As did something about coveting.

    • I'm getting dozens of fliers a year from all the estate agents.  I'm not selling, thinking of selling or renting out. The one from John D Woods really got my goat as it is plastic coated so can't even be recycled.  I've emailed them.  They must be making so much money to to these mass mail outs.  I couldn't find the old thread about things that put you into an irrational rage (although this rage is not irrational) I have a nice time too watching GB win their first medal at the Winter Olympics - that is an understatement! I'll burn it, sod the tiny impact on air quality.
    • @PenguinYou will have to explain this to me bearing in mind your and others outrage at a possible new scheme on Ryedale, and the use by many on this forum of Southwark News to support their reaction. I don't know what precautionary mindset means.  The precautionary principle is that we need to act now for example in tackling climate change rather than wait twenty years for conclusive evidence (that was the situation in 2006 when Stern published his report) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_Review
