But surely you would know as the person would let you know where they were based?

But you must have wanted the item to collect? And it's not a million miles away!

Dont understand The fuss

I once had to go to Catford to collect an item.

I was a bit irked but it was something I want and I negotiated a kower Price due to The Travel

However, if The truth be know I would have paid even morze tran The asking Price,

Wiat iż The arena anyway? What is The exact boundary of East Dulwich ?

Arę residents of Dulwich village not allowed to post here ?

It's not about whether they are allowed to post on here.

It's about being upfront about where the seller is based.

Really don't understand what all the fuss about. Far too many moaning Minnies on here!

I'd be far more annoyed with vague or non existent descriptions, shops selling or using this forum as a marketplace or people selling items at ridiculous prices or mark-ups.

If you're buying any item you should ask where the seller is based as you'll have to pick it up. If it's more than walking distance you might have to get a bus, drive or heaven forbid hire a van.

I've sold to people in Brighton through this forum and now live in Elephant. If there's something I want I will travel and still find this forum very handy for local information and occasionally buying or selling goods.

Its not being fussy, its the rules. Why call it ED forum if you have to collect from Tooting. I don't think it should be a problem for the surrounding areas ie Herne Hill, but if we are stretching further afield, the seller should delivery or meet half way. If you don't have boundaries, this will end up like a ebay website. I don't live locally, but my connection is ED area is work, so my collection from me would be work. I have cheated a bit, and offered large items to people who are under the wanted section, but that is a 121 conversation.

Mik322- nothing wrong with some travelling from Brighton to collect from the ED areas, but travelling to Brighton to collect...that's need the gumtree link..lool

I am not "brushing stuff aside and pleading ignorance." I am truthfully saying when I don't presently know enough about something to comment. I have always been very careful to try to  differentiate between fact and opinion in my posts, and I am not clear what your point is. And I am certainly not trying to wind anybody up. This is a forum. If you don't want to respond to my posts, that's up to you. I'm not sure why you feel the need to announce it.
    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
