Then there is the old hole in the floor, which if there's any of the old Norman stock left in the royals, there must surely be at least one tucked away in the palace somewhere.

(ooh 10001 a nice palindromic number there; is it possible to do an entire and meaningful post as a palindrome? HB, I challenge thee)

Dearest huncamunca, the most innocent of questions I do assure you... and most satisfactorily answered, many thanks.

Besides, it made Mockers type a symbolic poo-filled 10,000th post, which I thought most apt. After all, what are we all doing here if not talking shite? If we wanted to say something sensible we'd be on the economist, or badscience, or some political forum or other. Or the Cats Protection League, you know the sort of thing.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
