Hi All

Having been let down twice in the last few days by people arranging to come and see some items I am selling (this morning was particularly annoying as I had to get kids up and around early in preparation), can I suggest that we have a thread that warns others of these time wasters? Or am I being too harsh... thoughts?

Sorry, sounds unpleasant to me and out of proportion! Better to PM the individuals and tell them directly - there might be a reasonable explanation and you never know what people are dealing with.

I ask for a 'phone number in case anything prevents me from being in at the appointed time, and will text a couple of hours beforehand to check they're still coming - haven't had a blowout yet!

if you never trust anyone you'll never get let down (in this case that means don't bother to go out of your way for anybody - let them fit around you) :)

I do that and still have had people not turning up ....

Agree about getting mobile number, I reckon I've been lucky, never had a problem so far.

I am so annoying I am not even going to hang around for the response as the Blue Planet is on.

Yep- this is the age of 4 in the bush (or on ebay or the edf) being worth more than 1 in the hand....

I always try to get a mobile number so I can confirm a collection, I've been giving a lot of free stuff away on here recently. However more than 50% just don't reply to messages or turn up, the people that do though are usually great but it has really put me off.

I've even had nasty messages from someone after saving something for them and then them vanishing for days on end, not replying to messages until I tell them I've had to give it to someone else.

It just isn't worth it.
