I'm relatively computer/internet savvy, however have absolutely no experience of setting up a website and wondered if anyone could offer advice?

Basically I want to set myself up a website to sell products online. It's just a tiny little "hobby" business, so I don't really have cash to splash on anything fancy (or official help!). My friend Google tells me there are a number of free/cheap website hosting options, some which provide a template which you can use as a starting point (which to me seems ideal) - anyone got any specific recommendations?

Any advice gratefully received.

Get your head round the payment gateway/cart service/merchant account as well. I have just set up my first website and those bits ended up costing more than the website. It does not take long to get your head round building and running your own if you work hard, I was worried about always having to pay someone to do updates but it is pretty easy.

Wordpress seems awesome if you want free, if you want an easy life I cannot speak highly enough of Squarespace- free trial, really easy to use and helpful people.
