Hello all. We're thrilled to announce that our bespoke tattoo studio is opening this Saturday at 11am.

We made East Dulwich our family home many years ago and have been quietly working away for some time searching for the perfect location for Storyville Tattoo. We were tired of the old trope of a macho, intimidating street shop and wanted to provide an alternative. A peaceful, welcoming, grown up space with the highest standards of work and care - we hope you like it as much as we do.

Website will be live very soon but we'd love you to pop by, say hello and maybe share a glass of fizz with us in the garden. You'll find us tucked behind lordship lane, entrance via the blue ornate gates on Ashbourne grove.. just follow the signs on Saturday!

For more info find us on instagram, storyvilletatto. . or contact us at [email protected]

In the meantime attached is a sneak preview pic. Hope to see you soon,

Nick and Clare

Hi dirac, siduhe is right, Nick is a specialist in the traditional Japanese style in full colour or black and grey.. but we cater for most styles in the studio. Aaron Clapham will be with us as well on Saturday and he's an expert in traditional American style..if you have anything specific in mind please get in touch
I'd heard there was a tattoo place opening in East Dulwich and have been watching the forum for news. The photo of your studio looks amazing - not what I was expecting a tattoo studio to look like at all. I've always felt a bit too nervous to go into one before but it doesn't look intimidating at all it looks very welcoming. I've been thinking about having one myself for a while now so I will certainly come and find where you are on Saturday. Do you just do large tattoos or would you consider a smaller simpler ones for a beginner like me?

Thanks a lot 123.kloot we're really excited about it! Yes we absolutely do small tattoos and are very beginner friendly. We have a short series of videos on youtube with advice for first timers so you might want to check them out here starting with the first one which answers the question 'do tattoos hurt?':

tomdhu, Assuming you had a good, experienced tattoo artist in the first place the best and most effective thing you can do is to properly take care of the tattoo while it is healing. That means for the first 6 months keep it out of direct sunlight and treat it with kid gloves - don't go swimming for the first month for example, chlorine isn't going to do you any favours. Beyond this the simplest way to extend the life of your tattoo is to continue to protect it against exposure to the sun. The higher the spf the better as far as tattoos are concerned. It's worth bearing in mind that certain colours do outlast others, the rule of thumb is the darker the ink the better it will last. You might be interested in another of our videos:

We hope to see you in the studio at some point!

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
