Good luck finding a run buddy - my own run schedule is too unpredictable to be any help, but I did want to say come along to one of the parkruns if you can on a Saturday. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and guaranteed people to run with. I'll be marshaling at Peckham on Saturday but there's also Dulwich Park, Brockwell Park, Hilly Fields and any number of others.

Also if you want company in the evening Dulwich Park Runners is super friendly and meets on a Tuesday and Thursday with runnners of all abilities.

Hi ElsaJohanna

Dulwich Runners is also worth checking out. We meet at the Edward Alleyn Club House on Burbage Road, SE24 9HD (5 mins jog from Dulwich Village or Herne Hill) every wednesday at 7.15pm for 7.30pm with a very friendly bunch running between 4 and 10 miles at all paces and abilities. We have a number of people who are training for half marathons and marathons as well as others who are happy with just building on parkrun type distances.

If you're interested just pop down one wednesday or message me / see previous East Dulwich Forum post for more details

    • I don't think I've ever seen it used other than for gluing advertising on it. It's definitely not a priority but these things typically get ignored and become part of the furniture (so to speak).  There is a beautiful old red box near Upland Rd. I miss old red boxes... 😞 Anyway I'll have a dig around and see if anything can be done.
    • £30-40 for M&S Christmas food for two seems very low! And only £60 for food and drink for 8-10 people?  We have had M&S food at Christmas in the past, and it came to a lot more than that. I suppose it depends exactly what you are buying. We left it late to book a Christmas Day meal out last year, so there weren't many options left.  The Cherry Tree menu looked very nice. That was our first mistake. We also overlooked the fact that it was a Young's pub, with all that implies about the food. That was our second mistake. We don't have shedloads of money. We  took the view that we deserved a nice meal  out after working bloody hard all year. So it was doubly disappointing to basically waste a lot of money which could have been very much better  spent elsewhere.
    • No sweetheart. It is a fantastic sermon which should be shared. It is a rights-based sermon which received a standing ovation - if you can be bothered to get to the end.
    • Welcome back. What have voting intentions got to do with this thread? And much as you may hate the present incarnation of so-called Labour, as do I,  I don't think it is true that they have "not done a single positive thing for working class people", is it? And how exactly are you defining "working class people", anyway?
