Funny enough I saw a dietician yesterday for this issue - no dairy for my son due to a milk protein allergy. No soya either. I booked to see privately as I had concerns about his nutrients etc and the NHS just said "cut dairy". The dietician's main concern was calcium and the calcium fortified orange juice is a great source of this. She also recommended avocados and hummous, both of which my son dislikes due to the texture. HE eats most other foods, including mackerel etc. I am awaiting her full report via email and an post other things. I found the appointment very helpful though and would recommend seeing a dietician to get specifics for the child. Perhaps a referral can be made on the NHS if your daughter presses the issue.

Hi, although I'm still giving dairy to my 1 year old who developed quite a bad case of eczema, recently I came across "Good oil" which is hemp seed oil produced in the UK and sold at Waitrose, at ?8 per 500ml bottle. I mix 1 teaspoon with her lunch and another with dinner. I was told by a friend about how the oil has helped with her eczema, and how the oil has a amazing array of essential vitamins. There are loads of articles on the net about how amazing the oil is, so take a look and see what you think. In the meantime, this is a good article:

my daughter is allergic to dairy and has neocate milk on prescription - there is one for pre 1 year and one for post 1 year. Suggest your daughter batters her GP to prescribe. It's very expensive. In fact if she is not allergic could try nutramigen which is much less expensive. Nutramigen is broken down cows milk and ok for many children and neocate is completely chemically produced amino acids as I understand. Give you everything you need. I would definitely advise seeing a dietitian. I don;t think fat is the issue - calcium and iron are. GP can refer.

    • I’m broadly in agreement with you, Dogkennelhillbilly. But why the meme? It’s a very unfair representation of Sean Dyche, a man who to my knowledge has never engaged in any culture war bollocks. From his Wikipedia entry: Dyche features in an internet meme criticising modern trends in football, in which the phrase "utter woke nonsense" is attributed to him; he said "I wish I'd copyrighted it. Considering I didn’t actually say it, it does follow me around".
    • Whisky Macs, like Harvey's Bristol Cream and Cinzano Bianco & lemonade, are a taste of Christmas past sadly lost to many. A little Whisky Mac and icing sugar whisked through whipping cream makes a festive accompaniment to stollen or Christmas pudding.
    • Legal matters are notoriously slow.  There is no rule that communication has to be via email, fax or letter. If the issue is that you want to claim damages to the property because of poor practice, you would have to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman, but surely the one to suffer the most is the “gold digger” beneficiary?    If that is not the wrong that needs righting, what is?
