Horsebox, I am not related to this cab firm in any way, I am just recommending, as many others do on this site. I do and have used many of the recommendations that we get on this site and have been very pleased with them. It is from the experience of others that we know what we will be dealing with.

No one can beat AdLee in the cab stakes they have a very prompt and professional service which is excellent for more important functions.

I believe everyone has their choices and in any case there is good and bad in every company you use. It may have been an unlucky day one might have travelled.

I went into Panther Cars this morning needing to get my daughter to her appointment urgently as our expected ride hadn't materialised.

The man behind the desk was courteous, helpful and went out of his way to be reassuring, the car arrived just as he said it would, and we got there on the dot. A big endorsement for Panther Cars from us.

I used to use panther cars, they are crap, unreliable and very rude, they picked me up from doing my weekly shopping with my 3 children and not only did he stand there watchin me load and unload the car he had the cheek to shout at my kids whom are all under 9 yrs of age and tell them they should be helping me. it resulted in an arguement as my neighbour overheard and was also disgusted with his attitude. This resulted in me not paying him, i said if he wanted his payment he can ask his manager to call me and apologise. he sat there swearing and shouting at me in front of my kids. Will not use them again i use keen cars now. also there sooo over priced.

Please do not under any circumstances, use this company to book a cab. Shoddy customer services is one thing, con artists is another.

I booked them, stating that it was to pick up 5 people. I then got a call from one of the passengers I had booked the car for, saying on driving off, the driver then said the price quoted for the journey, would be increased by ?7, as there was a 5th passenger. She instantly called me to tell me the situation, I then called the office to query this substantial and frankly ridiculous change, and the man confirmed this to be true. His reasoning, was that I never said there were 5 people, but as he had had to send a specialist car, for the job, it would be according to him ?6.50 extra for the job. Tell me, how do you send a special car for the job, if you claim you were unaware that there were 5 people? How does the driver, drive off, then mention once he's set off that there is a ?7 surcharge? Why did he not say this before leaving?

Very shocked, that that's how they get their money from people, by duping them.

    • Callout for help from any local experts here. Looking to find out more about the history of the property on the corner of Whateley Road and Ulverscroft road (with the green glazed bricks). Now a residential property, i'm told it was a bottle shop in days gone (the house was built around 1900) by and i'd like to learn more about the history of the business that was once here - name, photos, anything at all really! Seems to be very little from open source research so i'm hoping anyone with history in the area can provide any insight!  Starting here before i contact Southwark Archives or similar orgs to get any information and pictures (any advice here also would be welcome). Thank you
    • Portable ramps are available for businesses to use in this sort of situation, aren't they? I don't know whether one would be suitable for use here, or whether they have the space to store one. Lots of people have  permanent or temporary disabilities which mean they have to use crutches or a wheelchair.
    • I can’t remember where I read that figure but this article in the Grauniad from 2023 discusses Ocado results from 2022. The average shopping cart fell to £118 from £129 the previous year. But Ocado lost £500m that year on approximately 20 million orders (circa 400k orders per week). So, averaging out to £25 lost per order. Ocado pauses building new warehouses as annual losses balloon to £500m | Ocado | The Guardian  Obviously, the £500m loss includes various factors. But Ocado has existed for 25 years and only made a small profit in a couple of those years. The rest have been huge losses. Yet it continues to raise funds and speculation sends the share price up and down. In that respect,  it’s like the UK version of Tesla. Meanwhile, the main growth in the supermarket sector has been for Aldi and Lidl, who do not deliver.
