Cycle route to clapham common

Hi all, can anyone recommend the best cycle route from ED to clapham common, or a good site to find a route?

Brockwell Park, Brixton Water Lane, Lambert Road, Mandrell Road, Crescent Lane

I agree; this forms part of the no. 25 cycle route.

Another vote for this route - I did this as part of my commute to work (including going a bit further to Clapham Junction). The bit to Brockwell Park is the least cycle friendly (but totally manageable - just a bit chaotic at the big junction at Herne Hill). The rest is all quiet back roads. A lovely ride.

Head down Turney Road then right along Rosendale andstraight over into the park if you want to avoid the junction.

That's such a good idea - why did I never think of doing that all those years I pedalled that way! Then you're straight into the park. Would have been a bit of a detour for me, but much more pleasant.

Agreed; I use that route too.

In case you don't know already, you can order up to 6 cycle maps free from the TFL website. It's been a revelation.

Try this route

Slight variation on the way back for one way systems/ease of negotiating traffic across Brixton Hill. Way out is from the roundabout, way back to the library, so you can vary depending on which part of the area you reside in.

And try TfL's cycling journey planner - generally very accurate time estimates, and with slow/moderate/fast settings - if a little off with the routes (it has a liking or side roads that I don't share, even if you hit the fast option).
