Hi

So I posted a while back about prams and after that discussion decided on the bugaboo bee.. Well it was suggested to me by my partner this morning (after she had a conversation at work) that we are better off getting something like an icandy/icherry as you can make it a double when you need to..

My question is - at what age do children stop using a pram? We dont plan to start trying again til this one will be 18 months old and it took us 7 months to achieve a successful pregnancy this time plus then you have the 9 months til its born.. Do you think we would be ok (if it roughly took the same amount of time) and just got a bugaboo board or do you think I have to relent from my position and consider a different pram?

Thanks and Im hoping I wont have to bother you about prams again!

xx

Depends on the child I guess.. my son is 3 in August and still has a nap, often in the pram so we definitely need a double, but if your 1st is going to be older (difficult to predict) then you may get away with a single plus buggy board, also you can put baby number 2 in a sling if the first really needs the pram.

Also, a double buggy (even a phil and teds) can feel quite large when you're on the bus etc so if it is feasible then for your first it might be nice to have a smaller pram like the bee just to make things easier in terms of weight, size, entering shops etc..

You can make the iCandy apple and peach into doubles...but it is actually quite expensive to do so! I had an apple - and it was going to cost about ?300 I think to make it into the 'pear'. AND the seats are pretty small, not great for a hulking toddler. So I sold the apple and got a Phil and teds..

I would say get what suits you now. If you get an iCandy or bugaboo they hold there value quite well, you can always sell and get something more appropriate at a later date.

i think the options you mention make for quite heavy doubles? I wouldn't personally buy for now based on what you may need later - can always buy a second hand P&T on here (which is w hat I've just done in anticipation of number 2, as my 2.5 yr old is a runaway so I need to contain him when on the streets etc!) - with first baby especially think it's important to have a pram that is easy to use and that you like, and if need be you can always sell it (think Bee will have gd resale value) and buy a double or go second hand as I say. Plus, things change quickly in pram world - may be some amazing new lightweight double out by that point!

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
