intexasatthe moment
hp I bet the lease for your flat allows for bins in communal space .The groundfloor flat might not own as much as they think they do .Though I know a number of terraced houses do have tiny front spaces that might have accomodated the small bins that used to exist ,as opposed to the monsters we have now . Northeastview
Southwark website doesn?t say when different bins get collected on what street. All of our neighbors are flats and I?ve never seen a communal brown bin. As for chopping it up in the street?I asked one of the refuse team who told me to leave it on the path and it would get picked up. Not the best solution.I don?t have a car either, so can?t take it to a collection point (I had it delivered initially). It would be good if southwark had given out a collection date. nxjen
Have you tried finding out your collection day on the following Southwark Council web page. http://wasteservices.southwark.gov.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/178750-christmas-tree-disposal/page/2/#findComment-1210871 Share on other sites

edcam
Yes they do. They also leafleted with a couple of Christmas period alterations. After those dates things went back to normal. Do you not know what day they normally collect anyway?Northeastview Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Southwark website doesn?t say when different bins> get collected on what street. Northeastview
But we don?t get a brown bin collection, so the leaflet about changed dates just covered our general refuse and recycling. A few years ago they included a generic Xmas tree collection day, which was really helpful. James Barber
It isn't clear what homes without brown bin collections - for example flats above shops - are meant to do. I have asked the director of the service and will chase for an answer. P.O.U.S.theWonderCat
Posted by James Barber January 07, 02:07PMOn the general point about where wheelie bins should be stored. They should be in front gardens unless you don't have one. Occupying the pavement looks rubbish. The more pristine an area looks and the more an area looks looked after the less anti social stuff happens and the less crime happens.I'd be interested to know what the evidence is for correlation between increased crime rates and wheelie bins being stored on the front pavement.
