Accident at Peckham Rye

Did anyone seew the overturned car by the Peckham Rye hotel yesterdaqy. all taped off by the police who were on duty by it - looked like a bit more than the average rta

I was on a 343 heading home when several fire engines came flying from Heaton Road round in front of us and up the Rye. The buses diverting up the right of the Rye. I could see a couple of fire engines by the hotel and a lot of people crowded round. A third fire engine appeared heading in the same direction. From the sheer quantity of people gathered, and a couple of people racing towards it, it didn't look good :-(

Mr Buggie saw it happen - said it looked like something out of a film, but also that he saw someone get out of the car after it had somersaulted.

What shocked me was that having seen it happen (at around 1845) he didn't tell me about it until I was trying to get to sleep!

Rode by at about 7.30 and the road was still taped off... the car was in a mess. Looked to me like it had rolled at least once, if not more.

Hope the driver/passenger got out ok.
