What milk for baby rice?

Just weaning my son. I know I should express for baby rice, as he's been exclusively bf up to now, but frankly, I've tried but just get really stressed as I haven't really got the time with a three year old as well.

So, should it be cows milk or formula in baby rice?

Use formula if no breastmilk to hand (so to speak..;-)). Once they are onto yogurt etc then I used to use cows milk.

If it's only tiny quantities it Problably doesn't matter which

Formula is based on cows milk anywAy though lower in sodium I think

Still has cows milk protein though, if that's a concern

If you don't bother with cereal but go straight to fruit and veg then it won't be an issue

I haven't met a baby who actually likes the stuff!

My little'un was exclusively BF'd too and I really couldn't be bothered with expressing so just didn't give her baby rice - we just went straight to pur?ed fruit and veg and finger foods.

If you want to give rice, I think I would prob give formula though.

Yep, it's the aptamil one that Cheeky S tolerated most. Although he quickly turned his nose up at baby porridge/purees and we did BLW anyway.

I think Sainsburys DKH do the aptamil baby rice, though, which is handy because I found it slightly tricky to find....

Brilliant. Thanks everyone. I'm heading towards BLW - he seems to love baby rice too so I'm doing a mix of rice, purees and blw. I'm delighted to say that he shows no signs of having the same allergy my daughter had - HOOORAY. SO much easier and SO less stressed that I was this time, last child!
