Painter recommendation

Martin Chandler 07769 676055

After the series of cowboys that were supplied by our loft converion company, Martin has restored my faith in tradesmen. He is unobtrusive, polite and best of all a very good painter. Always friendly, he would say Hello in the morning and goodbye in the evening, but otherwise we didnt know he was in the house. The couple of days I was home and engaged him, he was very good company. He visited the site twice before we started and had a much better idea of my needs than I did. From the first meeting I knew I was in good hands. It's a pleasure to have a real professional on the job. My wife was impressed with how accomodating and respectful he was of her and our 12 weeks old baby. He also interacted and was wonderfully patient with our 3 year old. I cannot recommend him enough.

Note: Martin is a local tradesman and has no connection to the loft conversion company.

We have used Martin twice. Firstly to hang wallpaper and secondly to repaint all our sash windows inside and out. His work is first class, to time and cost and he left each day leaving the house clean and tidy. He was invisible but always extremely polite to the family when at home. I cannot recommend Martin highly enough.

    • Do you believe this is actually going to happen?!   Demolition was supposed to start in the summer but the Labour government have pulled the plug. Even Labour councillors have had to begin petitioning the government to keep the project alive. https://www.southwarklabour.com/2025/10/03/labour-councillors-launch-petition-for-peckham-rye-station-upgrade/ It's dead in the water surely?
    • Yep CRP Dave. It reminded me of Jess Phillips a couple of weeks ago, when the grooming gangs enquiry started going tits up.  It's not very statesman-like to lose your shit like that in the chamber. It's one unedifying display after another.
    • no need to be snipey mulumbo - just trying to understand what you want to achieve - if you have what you need great - no need to be ungrateful or unkind
    • He should be. His behaviour has been appalling. Refusing to comply with a Speaker's request to come back to the HoC and explain himself shows utter contempt to parliament and the electorate. If he had any any integrity he would resign. Nothing to do with the prisoner, but all to do with his arrogance and contempt. This Labour party don't have any integrity at all though. We are two weeks away from the Chancellor of the Exchequer breaking a fundamental manifesto commitment. Breaking promises like demeans the entire contract between voters and MPs. If she doesn't resign for breaking those promises (she won't) then all manifesto promises going forward have to also be treated as lies, not worth the paper they are written on.  She should have already resigned herself for the breaking the law over her failure to register as a landlord. They are an absolute disgrace. And whilst all this farce plays out in Downing St where the fuck is the Prime Minister? Nowhere to be seen, unanswerable to the public about this disgraceful shambles.
