Wow.

I am / was in my previous life too though not quite at your level, but have dived alot all over the world. I am a fair weather diver though, at my happiest in a short wetsuit! I genuinely enjoy looking at the fish on the octonauts, or in the horniman aquarium, reminds me of lots of great times underwater. Hope I'll get back to it one day. Have you dived recently?

I used to be an enthusiatic horse rider and trail leader... haven't ridden much since 2005, not even been in the saddle since 2009. My postgraduate career ate up all my time, and Little Saff has taken a lion's chunk out of my budget.

These days the closest I get to a horse is longingly to watch the police horses clip-clopping down the street.

I'm looking forward to the day when Little Saff is old enough to take mother-daughter riding lessons with me. Although, by then, I'm sure she'll quickly surpass me!

Ha ha - I'm a diving instructor too! Well was. Haven't been in the water since b4 i got married. We were supposed to be following the whale sharks around Christmas Island on our honeymoon, but I found out that daughter #1 was brewing 2 days before the wedding.....

big sigh!

Hope I get there sometime!

How many years until University? :)

PADI - Sorry! But I'm also a mixed air fan! I spent three months in Koh Tao (small island off Thailand) about ten years ago getting my instructor's licence.

I didn't want to come back but finances (and my inability to speak any languages well, apart from English, Corporate-speak and now toddler) meant my dream remained just that.....

Another big sigh... I'm fulfilled honestly, but Nemo still makes me blub (and it's nothing to do with him losing his dad)..:-S

I first did bsac and iantd then crossed over from bsac advanced instructor to Padi owsi/mfai and spent quite a long time in Belize (with Raleigh international)

I know koh Tao quite well! Been there twice, few weeks at a time (97 and 2001)

Started diving in 1998...

Will teach oldest little f later I hope

Am a snorkel instructor too

I look forward to sailing as well with him and climbing

Ohhhh.... I do miss it!!!

I love sailing and it's been tricky since having baba - would recommend Sunsail Holidays for scratching the sailing or diving itch - the beach club at vounaki Greece is great - a beach full of boats for you to hop on and off all day - amazing free childcare - professionally run nursery nneb English nannies where they take the kids on boats. Kids pool etc. Kids food. Babysitting by nannies in evening. Good food. Baragains to be had beginning and end of season - just seen offer of ?399 for a week in May ...

    • I just checked the Southwark Council website and it stated:   All responses to the consultation will be recorded and a ‘consultation findings’ report will be published once feedback has been reviewed. The review process involves collating feedback from a number of council teams and external agencies - the aim will be to publish the report as soon as possible after the consultation has closed and no later than the 31 January 2026. The report will be published on this site. The use of bold type on the date is the Council's, not mine. They are late. I wonder why?
    • I would also like to recommend Leon, who completed an EICR inspection for us. He kept us informed of his arrival time on the day and arrived promptly as promised. He was knowledgeable and clear about what work was required. I would happily recommend him and would not hesitate to use his services again.
    • It's not far from Lordship Lane if you cut down Ashbourne Grove/Melbourne Grove. Depends where you start from, I guess!
    • I doubt if it was something special - it has been full a few times I've been recently and when I have been able to get a space I've been lucky and bagged the only one available. I think there are only around 15 general spaces. Others are for staff, blue badge holders or EVs. I guess in winter people are more likely to drive, it wouldn't take much to fill all the spaces with the different things going on at the surgery/pharmacy such as blood tests, picking up prescriptions. It's possible a lot of the cars are in and out in 15 mins, i've not monitored it closely. This morning with all spaces filled when I arrived there were a couple of cars loitering in the hope of a space becoming available. I didn't want to risk it. As has been said, you can drive in and out and be caught on camera and not get a ticket but I'm not sure what the grace period is, if there is one.  Like you, I don't think a significant number of people are parking there to go shopping - it's too far from Lordship Lane as I found out this morning when i had to run from LL to Tessa Jowell! i guess the car parking spaces just can't cope with the number of legit drivers using Tessa Jowell and if that's the case not a lot can be done about it.
