I agree, prickle - and I'd add the people who leave their rubbish bags to fester outside bins and then blame foxes for tearing them open.

I can't resist adding just one point - the BBC website refers to 'risks'. When I checked on the incidence of Weil's disease in this country, I found that the mortality rate is 2-3 people per year in England and Wales, and that the disease is rarely fatal... http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Leptospirosis-%28Weil%27s-Disease%29.htm.

Compare this to the 2,284 deaths from road traffic accidents or the nearly 160,000 deaths from circulatory disease in 2009

When I was little more of a toddler, my dad came home from work one day to see me in the garden nursing my dolly all wrapped up tight in a blanket. It was only some time later, when he came out to call me in for tea, that he discovered the object of all my kisses wasn't dolly at all but a dead rat.

    • Yes, we have a Casio CT-S100 we no longer need, except I dont think we have the headphones any more. It has a USB connection. £50? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7333639
    • Thank you! She is both spayed and microchipped, and reported missing on Petlog and with the vets.   She normally never goes out the front, certainly for never more than 10-15 minutes, so this is definitely new territory for her. There is lots of dense foliage across the road so there are plenty of places she could be hiding if she is spooked, so we are hoping she will come back when she is calm. The weather isn't helping, she never goes out in the rain. Thank you again!
    • Hi, Have you been letting her out the front door onto the street or would this be a first & therefore unfamiliar with the area? Does she respond to a name & is she spayed & microchipped? Our team carry scanners on our daily routes & will of course be looking our for her. I hope you are reunited with her soon. If not already, notify your street & surrounding streets (find out if they have Whatsapp groups) Dox will print & deliver free missing posters https://www.doxdirect.com/help/free-missing-pet-posters/ Call her at dusk & dawn when street & foot traffic is at its lowest. • A slightly delayed review but another one to echo Niko's praises. I had an issue with a cistern that needed replacing and Niko was attentive and did a great job. He was very diligent, explained what he was doing and fixed issues from a previous plumber's work. I will definitely ask for his help again if I have any issues in the future.
