Where to go to buy a pram?!?

I live in East Dulwich - no car, so public transport.

Where is the best place for a wide range of prams? Is there a "Pram City" etc, that is accessible by bus/train?

A big mothercare by E&Castle would be ideal!

I was just considering the Mothercare at Lewisham.

I'm really keen to go to a shop first, and try them out. I've got a 14 month old, and still looking for the ideal stroller...

Big mothercare on Old Kent Rd, or Tommys on rye lane?

Maclaren triumph or mothercare urbanite are the best lightweight strollers IMO. Urbantite fully reclines too.

John lewis in Oxford street? Easy, if not long, journey on the 12.

For local definitely check out Tommy's on Rye lane. An impressive range if you're just starting out and want to stay local. There's a small selection in Mothercare further down Rye Lane in Peckham too. Catch the 37 to Rye Lane if you'd rather not walk.

There's also a few brands in Soup Dragon on Lordship Lane (but probably not the wide selection you're looking for).

we had a look in john lewis. one thing i would say is to look at whats available before you go, so you have a vague idea of what size etc you are after.

we had 3 we wanted to look at and my brain was full after that!

Large Mothercare on the Old Kent Road and literally on the oposite side of the Road is Babies R Us.

I'd go to John Lewis on Oxford St and mamas and papas opposite on regent street. Not a fab selection, but that plus mothercare should be a good start. There is also peppermint on Northcote Rd in Clapham (37 bus?).
