I'd go the whole hog and spring for a can of WD40.

Do you think that might help my creaky knees?

Ha ha huggy you do make me chuckle. This threads become more about my personal credentials than a quick survey on the people of ed's views on fg.

I really meant it as nothing more than that, didn't expect so many hundreds of posts!

That long lost quote was in the context of asking restaurants to serve a vegan dish. I'm sorry if my enthusiasm made me a little keen.

I have always advocated politeness when talking to managers of restaurants and tried to keep discussions positive.

To lobby parliament would take years, I'm looking local as I don't have any political influence on Westminster do i?

The Dvvs also run a number of different initiatives, fg is only one. dulwich Meat free days, vegan alcohol, veggies parents group, vegan ice cream in cinema, networking with churches schools councillors and mps for the environment, human health and animal welfare.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it has been emotional.

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
