Freeview changes in East Dulwich

Apparently Freeview is changing in this area on 21 March.

If you use Freeview you will probably have to retune for some channels.

A tv aerial engineer also told me recently that, due to a change of frequencies for HD channels, Freeview will lose access to HD channels.

Really? I've not heard that anywhere. Given the heavy promotion of Freeview with its HD capabilities and people being encouraged to change their hardware I can't believe this would be allowed to happen.

If you search on that site for an SE22 address it says "If you do not retune, you may not be able to view these channels"... and it lists some HD channels which would imply that IlonaM's tv aerial engineer was wrong, i.e. you can continue get HD channels on Freeview.

Surely if you are already getting HD you are not going to suddenly stop getting it?

Two of the main eight freeview multiplexes broadcast from Crystal Palace, com7 and com8, are being moved from UHF channels 33 and 35 to channels 55 and 56. No change in quality of reception is predicted: http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechecker/main/trade/SE22+8HH/NA/0/NA. It's a smallish set of program channels involved, including the HD versions of BBC Four , News and CBeebies, and RT; there's a full list at https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Crystal_Palace/PGSTART1770/irt666185. Your TV will probably tell you at the time that retuning is needed.

It seems that the change may result in a loss of those two HD multiplexes for some people with the wrong type of aerial. If so, you could be without all of these:
