Hi all,

I have just started my second trimester of pregnancy, so can now happily start exploring more exciting exercise options than sitting on my sofa rating my nausea out of 10!!! Can anyone recommend a good pregnancy pilates or yoga class in ED. We are very fortunate to have loads of options available to us here, but was hoping for some firsthand recommendations.

I would also like to know of any other pregnancy safe exercise classes that anyone can recommend.

Thanks everyone

I've been going to pre & post natal Pilates at ESPH on Lordship Lane. It's on Mondays from 12-1 and I think it's about ?10 a class. I bought a block of 10 lessons. There's no expiry date on the lessons and they can be used for any of their classes, so I'm planning to keep buying in blocks and after I have the baby who knows I might even go and do some spinning or something if I have any left!

I went to Pre-natal Pilates at Push Studios on Blackwater Street for a bit too. It was on Thursdays in the evenings (I think abnout 7pm), which was much less convenient for me as I already have 2 kids. That was the main reason why I stopped going there and went to ESPH instead. Also, if you buy a block of classes they only last for 3 months which isn't ideal given you can't do Pilates for 6-8 weeks after the birth. It's also about ?10 a class.

I have to say the set-up at ESPH is much more professional than at Push Studios as well, in my opinion.

I go to a great pregnancy yoga class on a Sunday evening at 7pm (used to be Sunday morning at 10.30am but she's just changed it) it's in Blackwater Court off Lordship Lane but not Push Studios - called Bespoke Space I think. It's run by Salome who is really good - here is the website www.stillspaceyoga.co.uk

Yes, I'm sure you can to both esph post natal one and also PUSH - worth ringing to check of course but from memory you can, as long as the baby is still not crawling etc.

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
    • Such a shame as Dells is fantastic - a decent local business providing a great service to residents.
    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
