Just heard it go by!

Must be one of these shown on www.ianvisits.co.uk - different date but same idea.

Shown on estimated timetable for 28th July and map as roughly 11.15 so that would be about the right timing.

Guessing it's this either steamdreams or The Sunny South Special.

Be great to just hail the steam train and pop down to the coast for the day!

I heard it too. Reminded me of living in Brixton where we used to hear it on a semi-regular basis :-) I once did a 72hr journey on a steam train from Delhi down south. I'm so glad I was in India during the time they were still running. It was not the cleanest way to travel though.

We took the steam train to Dorset when I was a child, before we had a car.

You could stick your head out of the window and get covered in black smudges.

:))

Don't wish to ruin the parade but this won't have come thru Dulwich looking at those maps. Denmark Hill to Peckham and beyond is used quite regularly, but you never usually heare them as the hill from loughborough junction to denamrk is quite steep so they tend to coast through.

If you look here for mailine UK steam, you'll see what's running where in the UK.

Next visit, according to the website is 4th September, late in the day.

    • Unfortunately while “being inclusive” can be a good thing, being blind to how that is being rolled out is naive. Greens, with Muslim deputy, and strategic voting are advocating open borders and no restrictions on benefits.  Restore UK are advocating restrictions and reducing the number of illegal immigrants, and processes for asylum applications Everyone in the middle is seeking power using whatever means necessary.
    • I would have thought approaching Muslims (and other ethnic groups) and using their own language  was being inclusive, and demonstrating that they were being inclusive. Unlike Reform, who appear to deliberately stir up hatred of particular groups of people. Unlike Labour, who appear to hate supporters of  Palestine. But this thread is supposed to be about James McCash's move to the Greens, so if people  want to discuss more general political issues, perhaps someone could start a thread in the lounge?
    • We got some good quality items at the children’s Christopher’s by the Goose Green roundabout.
