Tennis clubs near East Dulwich?

Recommended Posts

hi,

is anyone a member of a tennis club near East Dulwich? I'd really like to play again and could do with the stucture of a club to keep going, and even better if its got a fairly good social side too. All the clubs I can find seem a trek over towards Herne Hill/Dulwich side from my current digs beside the Rye Common, any personal recommendations to persuade me to make the journey?

Thanks, Marie.

I am a member of Camber Tennis Club, just off the south circular opposite the Harvester pub. It's a small and informal club, which tolerates/welcomes fairly crap players (like myself) There are 3 courts, 2 floodlit, and it's about ?150 per year. They organise lots of social events, and run 3 or 4 mens and ladies teams. If you're interested call Nigel on 07932 677899

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
