Childminder query

Recommended Posts

Looking for some advice regarding childminders. I am starting a new job in Sept and working hours will be 10-2.30. My (then) 2 year old will need childcare of some sort but I would prefer not to pay for a full day with a nursery or childminder as I don't need someone for a full (9/10 hour) day. Am I likely to be able to find a childminder who charges by the hour? Or can anyone suggest an alternative idea that I may not have considered.

Any childminders with vacancies - it will be for 3 days a week 9.30-3 (maybe earlier pick up on one of thise days).

Thanks in advance.

It might be possible. Some childminders who have afterschoolers may consider a shorter day if they have before and after school care of another child but not as common but I do know minders who have done this. If it's for more than 2 hours a day another parent cannot help if you are paying them as they have to be ofstead registered to look after a child for more than 2 hours unless it's after 6pm. Have a look on childcare.co.uk too as people tend to list hours and availability.

    • A couple more PR / tickbox sessions are being offered by the organisers (the expression "reaching out" really makes my skin crawl), again presumably without any council representatives attending. No sign of the results of the consultation yet, or when the meeting is to decide whether to grant the licence... • I must say Dulwich is the worse borough I’ve seen for dog mess. Literally everywhere I step it’s dog poo! There is a lot of children/kids in this area god forbid they fell in it. Fix up dog owners!!
    • I can’t recommend Niko highly enough. Not only did he solve a problem that was puzzling others, but he started with the least disruptive and least expensive option which worked. He is also a delight to have in the house. 07818607583
    • I have been training with the brilliant personal trainer Fox (yes, that is his real name) for over 3 months now. I can't speak highly enough about Fox, Gok and their team. I was desperately unfit and now I am in danger of turning into a gym junkie! If you are considering joining a gym/class or getting a personal trainer then I would 100% recommend Gokay Fitness.
