Riotcleanup http://www.riotcleanup.co.uk/donate.php has a list of things that they need in Tottenham, but the only mention of Croydon is the campaign to raise money to help rebuild the Reeves furniture store

You could try asking on the Support Croydon Cleanup Facebook page? http://www.facebook.com/supportcroydon

There is a shop unit on the ground floor of the Whitgift Centre in Croydon that is taking stuff. I think it only opened yesterday and they are taking anything that can help the people being rehoused. They are due to be rehoused on Monday I think they said.

They need all kids of stuff. I brought towels, blankets, toys, clothes, colouring in books, a few toiletries etc and it was all very well received so they must be needing it.

Hope this helps those who are looking for somewhere to donate.

I also noticed things like ironing boards, pots and pans etc, jars of food. They also need buggies.

    • I had a fantastic experience with Saied. Over two days, they worked hard to remove a large patch of invasive bamboo and tidied up the garden beautifully. They were polite, professional, and very easy to deal with from start to finish. Everything was done efficiently and with great care. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them
    • So you prefer to just complain and moan ad nauseum without ever being able to point to a better path? as a country we are not taxed to the hilt. Not historically in this country or by comparing to other countries.    where are you getting inflation is falling from - it’s been a bit up and down for a while but not really trending downward.  But even if it was, real world prices lag behind - but it’s not universal - so things like rent could continue to spiral
    • Maybe the Church will move a bit back towards the centre and be less liberal.
    • It's not who I admire, it's who's best to turn this country around and solve the multitude of problems the population experiences on a daily basis. People's pockets are only so deep and can only afford so much before they eventually have to rely on the State and that costs even more. The Cost of living spiralling, although inflation is apparently falling, right, yeah, NOT. Taxed to the hilt, wages/pensions not rising sufficiently to keep up, resulting in unemployment increasing, businesses not able to afford to keep or take on staff. It's a rollercoaster that is hard if not impossible to stop.
