I'll look up patronising while I'm at it.

Cloghie's big mouth was the least of FA's worries. The FA didn't want a power struggle with Cloughie.

Moving onto the England game it seems the team is full of centre backs. Three out of the four England midfielders: Gareth Barry, Jones, and Rodwell, have all played as centre halves in their careers.Perhaps if England played a defender as a striker then we could have got a proper goal rather than an own one. But then Barry and Rodwell both had sitters.

I'm giggling like a schoolgirl Parkdrive. Your wit is beyond compare.

Back to last night's game. Agreeing with you Undisputed Truth. No flare in the midfield. No one to pick out a pass. The sooner young Wilshire gets fit again the better but should we really be placing so much hope on a 19-year-old?

Anyway, it's good that that particular 43-year hoodoo has gone. Still, two wins from two games, beating the World Champions and no goals conceded. It's hard to have much to complain about.

In related news, the FA have charged Suarez, but still haven't suggested any evidence. Surely if there was TV footage, we would have seen it?

Before UDT jumps on me, I'll say again. If he is PROVEN guilty, I'll be the first to say he should be heavily punished.

It still looks like Evra's word against Suarez's.

Wislhere and Maceachran are the future central midfielders for England. Then we should see some proper flair. Rodwell is a very good player but I'd like to see him play as a footballing centre half/sweeper.

What's disappointing about all the recent race issues is how fans' and club loyalties seem to take precedence over the issue (I'm not talking about EDF users).

From the Telegraph...

AVB should never have come out and given his full backing to John Terry so quickly. Yes, Terry is innocent until proven guilty, but a club should only release statements like AVB's when they have the full facts from an independent inquiry...ditto Dalglish and Liverpool...clubs need to show far more responsibility on such issues, otherwise it only gives fuel to the fans vitriol.

I agree whole heartedly with that R_D. As a Liverpool fan, obviously I want Suarez playing, because he is a quality player, but that doesn't give ANYONE a pass to be a racist (IF indeed he is).

When it happened, Man U supporters were all convinced he was guilty, whilst all Liverpool fans were convinced he was innocent. This strikes me as pretty poor form (from both sides), and absolutely ridiculous, as not a single one of them actually knows.

My only reason for being so strong on the need for proof, is that accusations like this tend to stick, and whether found guilty or not, Suarez will now always have the shadow of racism hanging over his head.

Also agree with this. It is something that should have dealt with very swiftly, and harshly (if necessary). Having them both drag on has done NO ONE any favours at all.

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!

    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
