Jah Lush
Yeah I was watching it only yesterday. You'd never have twigged he'd do that to himself less than 24 hours later. The mind boggles. Very sad. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/375/#findComment-503487 Share on other sites

Otta
Gary Neville' It's absolutely devastating. My careerand his crossed many times, I playedagainst him many times. Everyone thatI know that knew him couldn' t say enough goodthings about him. We think of football as beingimportant, but it' s not really."Spot on. Alan Medic
Only yesterday I was reading about Stan Collymore and his bouts of depression. Seems he Tweeted a lot about it in the last few days. I sometimes hear him on the radio and as a pundit I quite like him but I would never have guessed he had such a dark side. No idea if Gary Speed had similar problems. Just seems such a shame to take your own life. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/375/#findComment-503505 Share on other sites
Otta
I guess we are all guilty of forgetting at times that footballers are humans with real lives outside of the sport. And no amount of money and fame can correct a chemical imbalance in the brain, which is depression.Just very very sad. Parkdrive
The death of a truly great professional overshadows all of the football played over the weekend. Couldn't careless about the results. By all accounts a nicer human being you could not meet, and a truly disciplined professional which is why he managed to play at such a high level for so long. R.I.P. Gary Speed, condolences to his family. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/375/#findComment-503647 Share on other sites
Parkdrive
I thought the Leeds fans were as maginificent as the Chelsea fans, or a section of them any way, were despicable. To sing about the death of fans at Hillsborough was deplorable. I have a work colleague who is a Chelsea fan who went to the game and is ashamed of her association with the club because of them. I only realised Na$ri was on the pitch when the boos were ringing out when he touched the ball, otherwise he was anonymous. What agood buy he's turned out to be. As for out singing, are you sure, you only started to sing when you scored. Please don't start doing a Man Ure on us. Well done Palace, thoroughly deserved win. Jah Lush
Well I was at White Hart Lane last night and although we mostly had our kids out I was still disappointed with the result. I could say the Europa League is a hindrance to the bread and butter of the Premiership but I want to win every game whether it's the Europa League or Carling Cup. Any competition is worth winning. Too many clubs are more interested in finishing in the first four of the Premiership to get in to the Champions League than actually winning anything because of the money that can be earned for the club. Ask yourselves - would you rather finish 4th in the league or win something? I know what my answer is. Football is about the glory, about winning something. Trophies in the cabinet and winning medals. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/375/#findComment-504749 Share on other sites
????
Absolutely Jah - taht's why we got relegated, all part of a cunning plan to win the Championship. Parkdrive
Following, supporting a club, being a fan, call it what you will, is not JUST about glory, winning titles etc. If that were true, most of us wouldn't bother. Your team is with you for life, through thick and thin. Of COURSE its nice to win title, and of course its nice to win trophies, but would anyone of you EDFers really walk away from your beloved team during fallow periods? I can't believe you would. ????
...well that may be true but it's interesting how many just 'happen' to end up supporting...Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man U........for no family/residency/place of birth reasons what so ever Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/375/#findComment-504925 Share on other sites
