RD - I don't think one (incl moi) should get the average score for missing a week - that puts you above half of the people who could actually be bothered.

How about 2/3 or 3/4 of the average score? That would be more fair?

I realise I'm adversely affected by this suggestion, but I'm above poor Quids and he's played evey week, poor lad.

I know Mick, but Quids would actually finish above you because your score wouldn't be considered as you only have 60% participation.

I've done another table putting in a flat score of 5 points for missing a week.

This penalty needs to be low enough to act as an incentive not to misss a week, but not too low so as to deter latecomers into thinking they could never catch up.

Does 5 sound about right? (FYI the average of everybody's scores is 7.5)

Do people think this is a fairest system?..

Whatever system we use, you and SCSB79 are joined at the hip, in good Old Firm style...with Rangers losing this week, is there only one more chance in Scottish Cup of an Old Firm match this season?

Erm... 5 eh?... my consistent/average score you mean?

So the equivalent of not playing, I mean the 'penalty' to be awarded would, as things stand, to all intents and purposes, at this point in time, realistically, and going forward - be called "a maxxi"?

As in:

RD - "Oooh, after a strong start Otta's not been able to play this week, so he's had to settle for a maxxi!"

OTTA - "Gutted."

I've never rarely been so insulted!

Now under Huge's system I flirted with 5th from bottom - ahh those heady days.

Intelligent bloke that.

Must be the Singapore air.

Always liked him.

Seems fair enough to me. We definitely needed an incentive to participate each week. Obviously there will be times when someone can't for one reason or another. Thanks for the work you've put in here. Much appreciated.

Well I'd like to add that the table should be adjusted so that the 'indigos' are at the bottom regardless of the points they have accumulated. As, in effect if they don't lose that colour they won't count anyway. And I'd move up the table in the interim.

In Argentina it is actually possible to win the league and be relegated in the same season.......but that's another story.

Awful display by the Arsenal, no heart no passion, awful. The chuminess by RVP and especially Santos towards RVP was vomit inducing. The travelling support were brilliant. Great stuff, more passion than the collective 11 on the pitch!! Brilliant game for the neautral yesterday between Liverpoll and the Toon, two stunning goals.

Strange weekend for results, Utd only top 10 team to win :)

Have to say that was the worse I've seen Arsenal play at OT for a long time. They played better in last years mauling. It would've been a similar scoreline had Utd been less wasteful.

AVB's problem is his inflexibility to change a system when it's not working, allied with dodgy substitutions. In midweek his subs handed the initiative to Norwich, and I can't understand why in a home match he would replace one striker with another when chasing the game against Wigan...I bet 'arry had a chuckle at that.

With only the Monday Night game to go, it looks like it could be a record low scoring week in the Predictor League.

Since the concensus of those who commented was to use the 5 point Maxxi for teams missing a week, we will.

From this week I'm also going to introduce the Coupon Buster Bonus. Each week I will identify the match/result that has the longest odds* that weekend, e.g. Southampton to win at Man City @ 12/1. So if someone correctly predicts an away win they will receive a 5 point bonus (this overides the normal 1 point). If the correct scoreline is predicted as well, they will receive a 10 point bonus (this overides the normal 3 points).

This weeks Coupon Buster is Sunderland to win at Everton

I have posted a request in the "Wanted Section" but thought I would ask here too (do forgive me Admin).

From where may I buy tickets for a match at Old Trafford which is both reputable and will not leave me feeling ripped off?

I have been wanting to go to OT for over 40 years, and it looks as though this season is going to be it - so seats need to be semi-decent too! :))

Thanks in advance.

Sure, these things aren't cheap...it's the same with tickets for the threatre, the ballet, the opera etc. I am happy to pay (or at least hubby is! :)) ) the going rate as this is going to be a massive treat for me. However, I do resent the payment of an extra - say minimum ?25 - on top of the face value of each ticket. Or is ?25 an acceptable extra to pay for PL games these days? I honestly don't know. I really would appreciate some constructive advice.

    • Hi there, Our Lexus NX300H, (reg RF18BWO) was stolen off our driveway last night, Monday 27th October. It was there at 9pm, and had gone by 7am. If anyone has any footage on their doorbell or Ring, that would be super helpful. We have asked some neighbours and reported to the police etc.  Most upsettingly, there was a box of old family videos in the car boot, in an old Sainsburys box (photo attached). If anyone sees these dumped at the side of the road, please contact me asap! They are priceless videos that my deceased grandparents took. Thank you for any info, Jojo
    • Another shout out for Milk & More - their app allows you to alter the order, add or subtract to it and also to schedule holiday stops without having to leave messages in bottle - so more secure. You do have to set up a direct debit with them, but I haven't had any problems with that myself. I have had one or two missed or late deliveries in several years, but not really a problem - only very occasional and caused mainly by delivery-person illness. And very much feels like an old-fashioned milk delivery. They do special seasonal offers as well. More expensive than the cheapest of the super market milk prices, but for that its at your door, fresh and no bother.
    • Enjoying the nostalgia and memories.  As with others, we get ours through Milk and More (is part of big co, so there is that against it, but it's hardly a secret/niche thing) - returnable glass bottles of milk, orange juice, yoghurt, and much more besides (as per the name). And yes it comes in the middle of the night in an electric vehicle. So can still get out nostalgia fix, doubled when the Riverford chap comes too.
    • This sounds like what goes on at Tessa Jowell GP surgery as well as others.   If you can flag yourself up as a ‘vulnerable’ patient or one that can’t use Apps for whatever reason etc then you can usually make appts by phone. They would have to make allowances. Quote the Equality Act 2010,  reasonable adjustments section.
