At least at WH you can pay less if it's not a 'top team' (eg ?20+ for Stoke but ?49+ for Chelski) but as you're always seeing a 'top team' at OT maybe that doesn't apply -

re getting the tickets surely the best way is to become a member and buy direct?

ETA: just checked that out of curiosity and it's ?32 just to join but they don't seem to sell matchday tickets unless you ARE a member (or maybe there are none left by the time non-members are eligible) so if you're only going once then a 'deal' with a ticket agent (as long as it's less than ?32* over the seat price) looks like your best bet.

*Unless members are allowed to buy two - then it's only ?16/tkt over the odds of course.

Thanks Maxxi. I did join as a member last season, but there was little available and when I did find something I realised that I could only buy the one ticket (booooo) - something I hadn't realised till the last second, so I haven't renewed my membership this year. However, thanks for your input; am especially grateful for the maths and will look into your tips.

I used to pay ?5 on the North Bank in 1990 and they upped it to ?6 for a few big ganes.

LM, if you wanted just one ticket and you weren't bothered where you sat, I'd suggest buying from a tout outside the ground on match day. Getting two tickets side by side is a bit hit and miss though.

You could try one of the ticket exchange websites, there used to be an official MUFC backed one, but it was scrapped.

Lots on the web... http://redmancunian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=614&p=965#p965

You could also try contacting one of the London/South East based supporters clubs to see if they have spare tickets.

Might also be worth checking the Manchester Evening News website, may pay to place an advert...

Don't pay a tout. Thats everything that is wrong with the modern game "not minding" paying over the odds and comparing it to theatre/Opera.

It's not difficult to find tickets, all you had to do was look on the website. The West Ham game is on general sale so you don't need to be a member by the looks of it.

JL - 2 Correct Results + 3 Correct Scores = 11 pts (For the 4th week in a row JL hits double figures...take a bow son!)

AM - 1 Correct Result + 3 Correct Scores = 10 pts

DR - 1 Correct Result + 2 Correct Scores = 7 pts

MM - 1 Correct Result + 2 Correct Scores = 7 pts

RC - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

SC - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Score = 3 pts

Mx - 2 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 2 pts

LG - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

So what you're saying is 'maxxi' is only worth 2... but "a maxxi" is worth 5...

A man could get a complex.*

*just not a correct score.

I am actually looking for 2 tickets...have been waiting 40 years+ for this so would like decent seats too...(birthday treat from hubby for next year :) ). Thanks for your input though, red devil...you've provided some ideas I hadn't thought about. As for touts...no offence...but I just don't trust them...shifty...the lotta them lol...

I did look at that site, Annasfield, but I need a weekend match (WH is on a Weds.). Still, I appreciate your input (especially as you don't post as much as you used to).

Thanks to anyone else I have missed and to those who emailed me privately. It doesn't seem such a minefield now, and I feel sure I shall have something in the next few days. Can't wait!

Spot on RD...can't do midweek...thanks.

EDITED TO ADD: 12,600 :))

Couple of tweets on bbc website that made me chuckle.

"Scotland should try and appoint Arsene Wenger! That seems to be only way forward for the Gunners!"

Andrew Edwards on Twitter: "Scotland sighs a breath of relief as McLeish distances himself from national team job, as managerless clubs await with fear."

Did anyone watch 8 out of 10 cats last night? They mentioned the Chelsea / Clattengurg situation and I think it's fair to say that they were not really buying Chelsea's story!

I didn't but I don't buy it either. Like Victor Meldrew and Sir Alex Ferguson I don't believe it!

I have to backtrack here. I now don't buy it either.

Now that I know that Mikel did not hear the alleged racist comment himself, I dont think they should have pursued it.

I was inclined to believe it originally as Mikel was obviously in deep dialogue directly with the referee and if something was said then he would have been able to hear it clearly. And an accusation on that basis I would ahve believed.

When I hear it was based on two people who the referee was not speaking to at the time, it became clear that there was scope for something being mis heard, and hence it all looks fabricated.

    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
