I know I'm a rangers fan but hahahahahahahahaha.

Feck off. James fuc*ing Forrest?! Puuuurleaze.

As a fan of a Scottish 3rd division team, you have lost a bit of gravitas. But I'm sure as a Scot you would be loyal enough to your country of origin to accept that some quality players do originate in Scotland and that Spurs scouts rate the young lad highly enough to have tracked his several times.

Week 25 results...

RC - 2 Correct Results + 2 Correct Scores = 8 pts

?? - 1 Correct Result + 2 Correct Scores = 7 pts

Mx - 1 Correct Result + 2 Correct Scores = 7 pts

OT - 1 Correct Result + 2 Correct Scores = 7 pts

JL - 3 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 6 pts

?? - 2 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 5 pts

AM - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

LG - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

EP - Played a Maxxi = 5 pts

MM - Played a Maxxi = 5 pts

PD - Played a Maxxi = 5 pts

RD - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

SC - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

As if you ever thought I had any in the first place!

So you finally got the dig in about the 3rd division huh? Didn't have to edit this one as you were quoting me rather than RD like last time?

Since the turn of the year he hasn't even been a regular starter for your lot. In fact he has only completed 90 minutes 3 times since the turn of the year.

Now he might be a decent player in terms of a one horse race SPL, but I'd be very, very surprised if he went south the the Premier League.

FA Cup scores...

SC - 1 Correct Result + 1 Correct Score = 4 pts

RD - 2 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 2 pts

EP - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

JL - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

LG - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

Mx - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

OT - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

RC - 1 Correct Result + 0 Correct Scores = 1 pt

SC & RD have qualified for the semi's, balls 1 & 2 respectively.

The draw for the semi's was 1 v 4 and 2 v 3.

The other two places are up for grabs, so everyone else will have to predict the scores of the two replays;

Blackburn v Millwall is this Wednesday, Chelsea v Man Utd tbc

Blackburn v Millwall

Chelsea v Man Utd

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
