So Michael Owen has finally decided to officially retire. Don't think he had much choice, as his body just won't let him carry on. A shame as I'd always hoped against hope that he'd rediscover his fitness and form and have another couple of great seasons in him. I didn't even hate him for going to Man U!


He's not short of cash, and has plenty going for him, but I do feel sympathy for a career that could have been so much more for him and for England. Had he been fit over the years I believe he's have smashed England goal scoring records!


Don't know what Roy Evans and his staff were doing in training back in the mid 90s, but Robbie Fowler, Jamie Redknapp and Michael Owen were all veruy good players who basically got trashed by injuries.

isn't it more likely what they were doing AWAY from the training ground that caused them to fade so young? Did the foreign players in the team have the same problems

I was joking about the training ground, but now you mention it, Owen was never the party animal type, he just done a hamstring too young, and had problems from then on. RE foreign players at that time, we did have a few who spent quite a lot of time injured.

      There seems to be a change in the reception staff - did not recognise a couple of them when I last visited.  Not sure whether one of the long term staff has retired as not seen her for a while.  Used on line facility as my podiatrist recommended antibiotics for a toe infection and also took photo of my toe which I attached yo my request. Got a message back within a day to say medication ordered from chemist.

      Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.
