One of your better ones BR, probably because it's not about Utd :)

Thx for heads up earlier about derby game being moved to Monday...got my feelers out for a ticket, but not holding out, they will be like gold dust

Not sure about fans of other clubs but I'd rather none of our players took part in a futile, meaningless friendly in case of injury. Not the greatest idea to play such a game between normal league games. Utterly pointless.

Perhaps, tomorrow's game England - Holland game was originally scheduled for last summer but was postsponed because of the riots. Anyway PD nothing to worry about. It's not as if Arsenal contribute much to the England side in recent years.

Really? Seaman, Dixon, Keown, Adams, Walcott, Wright, Wishere, how recent we talking? And as for Holland RVP? Perhaps give a definition of "recent" before making sweeping and ludicrous statements eh? Club v Country? The Arsenal every day of the week.

Might have been helped by being named England Football Supporters Player of the Year for 2011 on Monday (Joe Hart 2nd). One of those "about time" appointments.

Have to agree that Parker has been a bit of a late developer. Used to watch him a lot at Charlton, and he was always good, but not in the same league as Gerrard.

My opinion is that Gerrard is a much better player, but Parker is playing the right way, and is a good appointment when we want a fresh start.

Disagree that it's about time, because I don't think Parker has been good enough in the past.

@Parkdrive - look, you nearly got him (scout Steve Rowley was keen apparently) but Arsene said no so let it go. You don't have to run him down all the time now because he's a lilywhite. And Gerrard wasn't so immense at the last WC was he?

@Otta - I meant about time the England manager looked beyond the big-shot-I-have-player-power enclave of Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry, Lampard etc. - stopped worrying about big names sulking if they didn't get it and appointed on today's merit.

I think Pearce made the right decision. Watching Gerrard last weekend made me think whether he has match fitness. I also think it'll a while before Gerrard shows his true form after his lengthy injury.

@Parkside - stretching the definition of 'recent' somewhat.

clearly parkdrive was watching a different game.

Parker was very good, one whoops moment notwithstanding.

In fact apart from the obvious inexperience of the side being exposed, I thought it was one of the most positive performances I've seen from an England side in ages.

    • Nope, I'd just get on with my day and forget about it. And I wouldn't report them on the basis that they might spill my coffee in the future.  However the OP seems to think that this young woman is deliberately pushing her bell, slamming her gate etc, having repeatedly been asked not to. I'd wager the woman is a bit pee'd off and there's a bit of a stand-off going on. Best course of action is to go out, take the parcel, smile sweetly, say hello, tell her you hope she's having a nice day / staying cool etc, in a way that comes across as genuine and not pass-agg,  and to let it diffuse. Might find it calms down a bit.  But I like the girl hate the idea of her being denigrated on here when she works so hard.
    • So of you're in a coffee shop and the barista is rude to you you wouldn't complain as long as you had received your coffee?
    • OP, you've got to relax a bit. Multidrop delivery is a total nightmare and the delivery drivers are woefully underpaid. We as a society all want to order stuff online and for it to be delivered quickly and cheaply. The square gets circled by allowing companies like Evri to have sham contracting arrangements. None of this is your fault OP but the delivery person is just trying to get through their workload as quickly as possible. Delivery is not, historically, an industry with large profit margins. “The only way it can be profitable is if you underpay the person who is the courier, by not treating them as an employee, by not paying taxes, by not paying their insurance, by refusing to give them sick pay or cover them if they have an accident or train them,” says Prof Annabelle Gawer, the director of the Centre of Digital Economy at the University of Surrey. “That is where the ‘savings’ are coming from.” https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/mar/01/the-hidden-life-of-a-courier-13-hour-days-rude-customers-and-big-dreams
    • Can bet the Co Op is nearing its exit soon. At those prices you might as well buy at waitrose!
