The reason you believed I was a young kid, was you like to treat people inferior to your belief in your greater intellect.

Actually, a 'yes' or a 'no' would have sufficed. And been more enlightening.

Could I ask you if you voted for the bank bailouts or the Quantitative Easing

If the answer to this is no, then you are in a cleptocracy.

?via the embezzlement of state funds at the expense of the wider population, sometimes without even the pretense of honest service.?

Ps.

I am a bit older than a teenager, unless over 50 is now the new teenagers.

Well, because we live in a parliamentary democracy, the answer is actually 'yes'. The electorate empowers the government to make decisions like this on our behalf.

Otherwise, your argument would also suggest that I didn't vote for:

- My bin being emptied every week

- Any funding at all for the NHS this year

- Firefighters to be employed

- Roads and rail to be maintained

etc, etc.

"I am a bit older than a teenager, unless over 50 is now the new teenagers."

You know what they say about the second childhood, yes?

Why are you so obsessed with the USA?

Your comment about the banks and QE are plain silly. Most people did not need to vote to request that their banks didn't go bust and they lose all of their savings, but you can bet if they'd have been asked they would have voted for it.

Likewise most people most certainly did vote for a stable economic environment and keeping their jobs. So yes, most people would have voted for QE.

I tink hes form the UK but its easier to cut and opaste shit like this from US of A sites hence the American spelings and contsant refrnce to obsucre irrelevant shite like glash seagull act and amercan banks and savings n loan crises and ther NYSE lol nutters on teh EDF who wuold have beleieved it

Ho please, no one voted for this coalition.

Democracy die years ago. Vote for a potato if you like, you will still get the same old song.

Except that QE and the bailouts were done by the former Labour government - the coalition is irrelevant to the issue.

And I don't believe the crap about 'democracy dying'. It's usually the mantra of people upset that everyone does not vote the way *you* want them to. Yes, people are voting for the same old, same old, but as it has been said, "the biggest problem with Democracy is that people tend to get exactly the government that they deserve".

If you don't like that, you don't like democracy.

Truth is there has never been democracy, capitalism, socialism, communism or any other (ism) human self-interest.

That same human self-interest, freed from regulations, has caused banks to acted like hooligans.

That same human self-interest, freed from the belief of legal consequences sent kids rampaging through the street.

OK, you are just being silly now. If that is the level of debate, then you are wasting my time.

What is the matter with everyone?? I called him a nutter after about 3 posts and here we are where everyone thinks they can still debate with him

Lady d. Just because you share the suspicion about banking, government and the rest of it doesn't mean nn has brought a damn thing to the debate. All the points raised have been raised before and will be raised again. But hopefully by someone less obsessive, one dimensional, and bored than nn

Your leader has spoken, pay attention or face the consequences.

Yeah, Ok. I thought that when he stopped the random cutting and pasting and actually started typing, a decent debate could have been had. But, after that last outpouring of reality-free bollox I give up.

    • Received this response from TFL today (15 October)   Thank you for contacting us on 1 October regarding the ongoing diversion of the P13 bus route between Rye Lane and Sainsbury’s, Dog Kennel Hill, since 29 September. You’re absolutely right that the diversion is due to Thames Water works in the area. While other traffic may appear to be flowing freely along Avondale Rise into Ivanhoe Road, our local Service Delivery Manager has confirmed that buses are unable to safely make the turn from Avondale Rise into Ivanhoe Road in either direction. This is due to the size and turning radius of the vehicles, which differs significantly from that of smaller vehicles. We understand that diversions can be inconvenient and appreciate your patience while this work is ongoing. We’re continuing to monitor the situation closely and will restore the usual route as soon as it is safe and operationally feasible to do so. Thanks again for contacting us. If there is anything else we can help you with, please reply to this email. Alternatively, you can call us on 0343 222 1234 and we'll be happy to help you.
    • If anyone is looking for a tree surgeon, I recommend Hamish and Cut Above Tree Management. He was very helpful and personable, quick to respond and did an excellent job of removing a wonky tree in my garden with a minimum of hassle. A fantastic service!
