Hello forum friends,

I?m wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a nice hotel and/or b&b in ED or the immediate surrounding areas? My in-laws are hoping to visit us in our new flat and want to stay local to the area - but I don?t know where to suggest! I?ve seen The Lilac Door and was thinking about recommending that but wanted to see if there were any other local gems to suggest? Thanks ever so much!

There was a previous thread on this which I used when looking for a plaice for some visiting relatives. Should you still be looking, they stayed at the InnKeeper's Lodge @ the Crown & Greyhound pub in the centre of Dulwich Village. They were there on Tuesday night and thought it was lovely (attached a link) www.innkeeperslodge.com/crown-and-greyhound.

A belated follow up - my in laws ended staying up at the Victoria inn and seemed to really like it (although my father in law was a bit grumpy about a 2am fire alarm but never mind). Rooms were apparently cosy and comfortable with nice mini toiletries, and it went down so well that I think they?ll stay there again when visiting us. Thanks all!

I think everyone will agree with me - living with relatives is extremely embarrassing for both you and them. Moreover, there are wonderful promotions and special offers on https://planetofhotels.com/en/. Depends only on your wishes for the selection. I am sure that you can find something for an adequate price.

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
