Hi charliebrown, thanks for that info. Your menu sounds deliciious, wishing I could make it this weekend now. Love the idea of cooking favourite ingredients for vegetarians, and no need for them to miss out on yorkshire puds either, that's brilliant.

Will look out on here for upcoming dates and menus, although I hope to pop in for coffee before then.

Congratulations on reaching the Top 8 cafes shortlist.

Had a gorgeous Roast Dinner @ The Magnolia on Sunday, if i am not making my own or cooking in Jacks this is definately my choice for a Roast. I had Lamb Shank, it fell off the bone, so tasty and succulent, loved the Roast Beetroot too! My friends all had Roast Chicken. They serve until 5pm and then hang around until the quiz starts at 7pm! A nice way to spend a lazy Sunday!:)-D

As from Sunday 13 November, the Goose monthly Singarounds will also be held Upstairs at the Mag on the second Sunday of the month (we've sadly moved from the CPT due to very noisy people in the bars).

So if you're not into the quiz but like to have a good sing, why not enjoy the excellent roast, hang around till 7.30pm then come and join our Singaround!

Really wasn't impressed with Franklins today, i'd give the food, the roast 7/10 but the service made me feel uncomfortable, had to hold my hands up to stop the waitress from leaning in front of me on several occasions, I've thought the service poor before, so not going back again.

I like the Crown and Greyhound.

We always go to Sunday lunch at Franklins and its always superb quality, great portions and the service is always superb.

In the two years we've lived in the area, and tons of times we've eaten there We have never ever experienced anything but lovely efficient accommodating and professional wait staff.

    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
