We all have codes assigned to our roles and I don't want to give anything away. I reckon it's pretty damn amazing that, in the days of social media, 10,000 people have managed to keep the show secret so far. We were only told about our segment, but you get to chat to other members of the cast and I think I've managed to piece most of the show together. It will be awesome!

Tee hee - I'm in the Opening and Closing too; might be quite a crowd of us heading back to ED from Stratford.

After the actual Ceremony shouldn't be a problem since the Overground is running til 3am during the Games. Getting home after the dress rehearsals might be more challenging depending on how the timings go!

At the moment I'm driving to Forest Hill & getting the Overground ( when it's working !!) to Canada Water then Jubilee to Stratford. The train bit takes less than 30 mins. Not sure how to get back in the last week of rehearsals as we don't finish till 11.30 some nights, any suggestions?

Loz, yes we MAR's are on ' the field of play ' for pretty much the whole time ,yaaaay !!!!

Applespider you're right about 23.46 being the last Overground, it's such a long trek back to the station !

There seem to be alot of ED'rs involved in one way or another, maybe we should have an All Olympic Volunteers thread so we can keep in touch?

    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
    • @Dulwichway Absolutely - I'm in no way trying to say that what happened was life-changing. I've encountered way worse situations and think of myself as pretty tough, which is why I took them on and got pelted. I suppose I'm just taken aback because the park always seemed so safe. But the stats I've just posted contradict that.   I suppose the one of the points of this thread is to point out that they weren't just numpty youths - I'd bet money on some of them being involved in more serious criminality. And to tell others to be vigilant.
    • Still, I guess it could be a lot worse than water being thrown at you by these numpty youths during these warmer times? thankfully it wasn't the more dangerous mugging type youths that crossed your path waving knifes and guns in your face!  just a thought? hopefully these muppets will get sorted by plod soon, but don't hold your breath.
    • Another dramatic spike the previous May 24 -  both crimes around the car park -  could this be related to the massively increased numbers of people around Gala time?
