It's all change, again this morning, sheets, duvets, etc, as my daughter had another nappy leak in bed. It seems like recently whenever she sleeps on her front with her knees underneather her, the urine just rolls down the inner front of the nappy and out of the the top. I'm suspecting that changing her last nappy in the dark last night I might not have made it tight enough? But then again how tight do I have to make it?? And, the position she gets herself into seem to make a gap at the front of her nappy no matter how tight I pull it! If I cut off the circulation to her head with the nappy, is that tight enough???!!! Arrrgh.

Has this happened to anyone else? Are some brands of nappy better than others for this kind of thing? Or is it (yet another) phase to be suffered through? xx

I have a boy so it may be different. We use an eco brand called Beaming Baby, they are absolutely the best nappies I've used in terms of absorbency. And I was a nanny for 20 years before having my son,so have used many of the usual brands and tried lots of other eco brands too. I buy them in the Fourways Pharmacy in Herne Hill but I think you can get them in the health food shop on Lordship Lane, sorry can't remember the name.
Happend to us too and I did the same as pripolla and went up a size which seemed to work. I also tried Toujours (from Lidl) after they got the 'Mumsnet Best' nappy award this year and have found them to be good. They go higher up than other nappies I've tried which seems to 'contain' things!
I think we may need to go up a size, but absorancy isn't the issue. Sometimes when this kind of leak happens, the nappy is almost dry inside! I think it could be that my daughter is very tall for her age, so her hip is very deep from top to bottom. I might give Toujours a try. We're in Pampers active fit at the moment.
This happened to us, and I went up a size of nappy, but also, when I put the last nappy of the day on, I made sure to fix the tabs right at the top of the nappy, above the patterned band where you normally fix them. This did the trick and we haven't had a leak since.
Motherease wrap plus motherease nappy plus pampers babydry works a treat on my lanky baby - again, it wasn't so much about increasing volume as getting good bum coverage, if you see what I mean. There's a thread I started a couple of months ago called heavy wetter at night I can dig out for you....

    • I highly recommend Temi as a very skilled and reliable painter / decorator based in the East Dulwich & SE London area. She has completed many jobs for us over the past 10 years at our property on Overhill Road SE22 and also on Harlescott Road SE15, and we have always been thoroughly impressed with her work. We often leave her with keys and leave her to work her magic, fully confident that she's 100% trustworthy and will always do a fantastic job. If you're looking for a trustworthy local decorator who delivers exceptional work Temi is a great person to call. I'm not affiliated with her or her business in any way and actually found her through a recommendation on the ED forum over 10 years ago, i just like to recommend really good tradespeople who deserve a thank you. • ''He caused chaos  in this country with his put down of everything British and his many dismal words about the effects of Brexit on this country.'' What utter tosh. Carney had to mitigate the effects of Brexit caused by plastic patriots like Farage. For example, immediately after the 2016 Brexit vote the BoE had to intervene fiscally by dropping interest rates and increasing QE in order to prevent the economy from taking a big hit.  They were unable to prevent the £ from crashing at the time, and it has since been worked out that the effect of that alone caused a circa £900/year hit to each UK household, which equates to the UK @ £450m/week.   There's reams of data out there that shows the economic damage Brexit has caused to the UK. Here's one looking at business investment, admittedly not very sexy but kinda important if you want to achieve economic growth. It's clear to see that prior to 2016 we had reached parity with some of our main rivals, but since then we've flatlined. All that Brexit has achieved is to win the race to the bottom. There's a reason why Farage never brought up Brexit at the last election, he knows himself it hasn't delivered on any of the promises, quite the reverse in fact.  Labour, stupidly, by saying they can make Brexit work have in effect given Farage a Get Out of Jail Free card...
