Having a clear out as builders undertaking work in the house and found a large bag of silver. Remembered that we found this in my deceased father in law's desk when we cleared out his house 9 years ago!

Consists of 'one shilling' pieces with Elizabeth 11 and George V1 heads on them ( more George) amounting to about ?15 in old money.

'Two shilling pieces - George V1 - about ?50 in old money

Plus one George V coin.

Will the banks take them back to melt down again? Will they give me a small sum of money for them? Does anyone know any charities that will take?

Father in law a bit of a hoarder - even found loads of love letters addressed to him from various women he dated during the war, before he met mother in law. We did not tell her about those letters as he was a ladies man throughout his marriage, even my female relatives thought him a charming and attractive man!!

At one time I collected all the coins made in each year, ( not all sets were produced each year). They are in coin folders. I have hundreds of lesser value ones, as I found a better one I then saved the best.

I still have them but cant afford to continue collecting.

Look out for a 1905 Half Crown Edward 11. Very few made. Worth ?52 to ?650 depending on grade. That was in 1970.

    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
    • Went there once and were not impressed when they charged £9 for one pot of Chinese tea for 2 people.
    • What nobody has cotton onto is that Dulwich library will not be available possibly for the Council Elections in May 26. Looks as though Southwark are not confident that the work will be completed by May 26 and are scouting around to find alternative venues.
