Interesting East Dulwich interviewees for a kids podcast - suggestions please!

Recommended Posts

Among my jobs I make podcasts. Perhaps not surprisingly my kids are keen to make some podcasts too and this seemed like a good summer holidays project.

I've had them on my politics podcast once or twice before interviewing MPs and we thought we'd like an interview section of whatever we cook up over the summer.

I've approached Helen Hayes to come on but I was hoping to widen the field a bit. Can anyone recommend interesting locals we could talk to? Could be celebrities who live in the area and might be amenable but also just folk from round about with interesting tales to tell and who would get on with kids interviewing them. eg, I'm wondering about the chap from Rye Books who could talk about his favourite books and make recommendations etc.

All and any ideas very gratefully received. (You'll get a shoutout on the podcast as thanks!)

How about the new CEO of the Dulwich Estate on her plans to develop the area?

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
