Hi I?m actually one of the art teachers who runs The Arts Factory sessions. Our web address is theartsfactory.london.

We run two classes on a Saturday morning at The Bowling Green Pavilion in Dulwich Park ( next to the children?s playground). The first class 9.30 - 11.00 is for 5 - 8 year olds and the second class 11.30 - 1.00 is for 8 - 12 year olds. We have only being running the classes for a term so far but the response has been amazing. If you have a look at this link some of our wonderful parents have given us some great feedback.http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1951216,1951488#msg-1951488

I run the sessions with a colleague and we are both trained teachers and are passionate about outstanding art education. We believe a broad artistic education is crucial to unlock a child?s full potential.

We wanted to offer classes that teach children about a diverse range of artists, allow them to experiment with an extensive range of techniques , such as print making, clay modelling etc and obviously have a whole lot of fun whilst doing so. As part of the club we also take the children on gallery visits and run observational drawing sessions in the park environment. Please have a look at our website if you?d like to find out more and you can always contact me personally if the website doesn?t answer all your queries. We are also launching an after school club in September on a Wednesday at the Goose Green Centre because parents have asked us to and we know Saturdays aren?t always the most convenient time for a club.

    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
