Hi there,

I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mum, and my son (who has just turned one) and I have much enjoyed the company of local friends and NCT mums over the past year. However I seem to be the only one not returning to work and wondered if there are any other fulltime mums out there who would fancy getting together / doing something a bit different like a gallery or something now and again. Invitation obviously extends to working mums too... not trying to be prejudice, but it seems to be very hard to schedule something in with my existing working mum friends!

Anyway, just looking for some lovely ED mums to hang out with now and again!

Kim

We'd love to meet up. Am away till monday, but could do Tuesday. Mornings or post 3pm good for Oliver (17months) and I... Yes! Hang in there Nabz its true it get SOO much better. You won't believe us. Before you know it you'll be sounding like a well seasoned mum doing it all! Keep your chin up. Have you looked into the NCT tea mornings in Nunhead. There is a really good group for new mums. Check them out. Look forward to meeting up.
Just wanted to say it was lovely to meet you all this morning! Lovely to chat and maybe catch up next week (Jack my partner is off to Lisbon so will really need the grown up conversation!) Happy to have people at my place (assuming there aren't hoards!). Kim

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
