TV Aerial Installation

Earl Aelfheah

Hi

Last week I had a new aerial fitted will cables each side of the house. I ended up using www.nunheadaerials.co.uk. He was pleasant, knew what he was doing, turned up on time, his work was careful and neat and cheaper than any other quote I got. He has been working in this area for a long time and relies upon word of mouth. Unlike all the others he did't try to sell me stuff I didn't need.

I was planning to post a recommendation for him in any case, your post was a good reminder.

Highly recommended and nice bloke.

Hi!

I am moving into East Dulwich soon and need to install a new TV aerial for Freeview.

I have found the recommendation for www.nunheadaerials.co.uk here, but their web site address seems to not work!

Anyone either know how to get hold of www.nunheadaerials.co.uk or have another recommendation for this installation work?

Vic :)

I recently used Aerial Services, based in Vauxhall.

www.aerialservices.co.uk

I hadn't had a TV for 4 years as the reception was so ropey it wasn't worth bothering with.

They were excellent - on time, knowledgable and got the job done.

They weren't cheap, but were clear about their pricing.

I used Bruce Berry as the way he described how he was going to install the digital and FM aerial to quite a few rooms in our house was much cleaner than anybody else who had quoted for us. He suggested what we wanted to hear like having cabling running down in the cellar and going up to the reception rooms from below so that no cabling would be visible inside the rooms.

Well when he came to do the job he had forgotten all that he said he was going to do and the type of cabling he was going to use. I had to do part of the job myself (the cabling in the cellar going up to replace the previous cabling of the analogue cables). The outside cabling is not fixed on the roof and is quite visible on the outside when it was going to run along side the guttering. Some cables are put together with tape on the outside as running too short. We have a mixture of black and brown cables. Time wise both my husband and I became very involved when we realised nothing was going to plan. He forgot all he said. We expected the job to take one day. It lasted almost a week. I had to go and buy missing parts to try to speed up the job.

The good side is that all is working fine and he did accept the notes I took down when he first came. He charged more than he quoted for as he said he forgot to include some items but that was not too much.

Still I would recommend him for simple jobs. For a bit more complex jobs you need to double check when he starts that he remembers how he agreed to do the job and check that he is doing it.

On Monday 13/05/13, we had problems with our Freesat TV signal. Checked the EDF and found several recommendations for Paul of NUNHEAD AERIALS.I phoned Paul and left a voicemail message, Paul phoned back a couple of hours later and booked a call the next day between 11:00 and 13:00. Paul arrived at about 12:15,checked the Freesat box and aerial and diagnosed a cable fault from the aerial. Paul repaired the fault in in about fifteen minutes, checked the system which is now working perfectly.

When completed I asked the cost. I had too ask twice it was so reasonable, so cheap in fact that I paid him double the fee he requested.

If you want the best in aerial installations and repairs, from a very pleasant, friendly and helpful guy, do not hesitate to contact Paul at NUNHEAD AERIALS. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I HAVE NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER TO NUNHEAD AERIALS.

FOUND ON EDF.

Just wanted to add that I phoned Paul at Nunhead Aerials today, having not much clue what I needed in order to get my new kitchen TV working. He came round to have a look and sorted it all there and then. Charged less than I was expecting to (although I didn't really know what I was expecting - as I said, clueless!)

Great service. Very pleased.

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
