peggle
I've recently thinking how much fun it would be to host a "Gaming Night" at a pub on LL one night in the week.At first I thought it would be good to basically set up a couple of Wii's and maybe a couple of XBOX's and maybe do some informal (and perhaps more serious) tournaments, could involved all types of games and players at all levels.Basically I really enjoy socialising and gaming rather than just sitting at home and playing over the internet. So if we had an internet connection people could bring their laptops etc. and there could be LAN games going on.All the while the pub would be doing well from the drinks and food being served, maybe even charge a cover for entry. What do you think? Would anyone be interested? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20362-gaming-night-casual-and-geeks/ Share on other sites

Annette Curtain
Well....( step away from the keyboard strafer )Usually i'm not best fond of "gaming" But if someone sets it up & I can just turn up-chuck a few quid in, zap the baddies, then it sounds fun.In-a-pub-with-other-people-kinda-wayWhy not.NETTE:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20362-gaming-night-casual-and-geeks/#findComment-496630 Share on other sites
Otta
I think it would be cool to just do simple wii games like bowling, it sonic and Mario Olympics. Can't really see serious gaming working in that environment. peggle
Totally agree, even throw a fiver in each with Winner takes all. (Thinking Wii bowling)If its geek friendly I'm sure a couple of people will bring a laptop along to play - it can be quite chilled out having a beer playing a few games. Even better when doing it with a few friends.Wonder what the most appropriate pub would be to do it at? peggle
Quake? Now you're talking..But on a night there's no reason why you couldn't have a prize Wii bowling tournament going on while a few people are playing a bit of LAN gaming as well.Plenty of beer and wine will make it all go smoothly! peggle
Yeah well I'm sure routers and mods won't be the problem.Making sure people actually want to come along to something like this and that theres a wide enough range of things to do will be the issue.
