We've had parties upstairs at the Mag and at the barn in the back of the Herne and both are great venues for children's parties and both with very helpful staff. You're allowed to bring your own food to the Mag, but need to order from the Herne's menu for catering. If it's a nice day and not raining, the Herne is great because you have a decked area plus an outdoor climbing frame.

I've never done it, but the Marsden Road Wildlife Centre also holds children's parties and it's a lovely venue for little ones.

Hope that helps.

It's outdoors but I've had two parties by Brockwell Park Cafe and taken a parachute game and home made bean bags for kids to play games. The kids got fresh air, there is hot drinks or whatever you fancy from the cafe and you can always check out the lido cafe or have a whippersnapper party session there inside and you're not rushing to leave. I've also had a party in the bowling green area of Ruskin Park which was a huge success in April because the area is private, confined by wall boundary and free. That was for a 3 year old and I catered for about 20 kids and parents too. I got take away style containers and put edibles in there for the children
Arh but I know little Saff and she is a bit older than Scarlett (warm shoes and 'shhhh' ring a bell?). This is me being super organised for a Feb birthday, its just after we get back from 2 months away and I know I will be too jet lagged to organize anything. xx

    • I had this same query the other week - Mediquip no longer cover Southwark and I believe the company when bankrupt? Anyway, after some digging, I found the news on the adult social care page of Southwark Council website.  The new supplier of medical equipment that is issued to Southwark residents via an OT from the council or the NHS is Provide Equipment Hub.  I emailed them about returning two items and they did promptly respond and came and picked up the items the following week.  Email them at [email protected] Importantly, they will come and do urgent repairs of equipment like hospital beds.  I'm surprised that Southwark haven't made this change more widely known as it will impact many vulnerable residents.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
