How to get rid of a sofa?

Any idea how we can get rid of an old sofa? Can we arrange a collection from the council or is that a silly question?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you are asking for money, make sure it has current legislation - no charity will take it if not!!

Just to add the council will only collect your sofa unless you yourself first leave it outside your property ie they will not come in to your living room & carry it out.

If in ok condition, see if the British heart foundation want to pick it up for one of their shops?

They only take sofas with those fire labels on though at BHF - Best bet is putting it free on here or freecycle!

These things can be very awkward to get rid of, I suggest you chop it up and dispose of it on a bonfire, maybe on an allotment at 4am...
